Earl left 11 weeks ago today, and I had been feeling like the weeks were flying by, but now I feel like they’re going too slowly! I was thinking, It’s only week 11? It feels like 16 at least! However, despite the time creeping by, the kids and I are managing to stay busy enough. Soccer ended yesterday, so that will actually free up time. We did have something to do every weekday, but are now back to just play practice on Monday and Awana on Wednesday. Add in PWOC on Thursday morning and church on Sunday, and all my activites center around God! Not a bad thing really…my main goal now is to actually spend time in His Word daily. I think my kids would benefit greatly from my growing closer to the Lord! Today my pastor talked about the evidence that you’re an authentic Christian being the fruits of the Spirit, and I definately need to work on the kindness, patience, gentleness and self-control!!!
You all know about my TV being destroyed by Isaiah, and maybe some of you saw the post yesterday of the new one I acquired along with an entertainment center at a garage sale! I was very excited and it’s given me a new excitement for my home. Today I’ve cleaned and decluttered and have some candles burning. I feel very “homey”…I love having a cozy house! Hannah also acquired an item she’s been wanting during our garage sale-ing yesterday-a Razor moped scooter! They are around 250 dollars at the PX, and she bought one that was new last December(so it’s less than a year old) for 100.00!!! It’s so great, because she had been saving up for one! She loves riding it around the neighborhood-it goes up to 10 mph and holds up to 170lbs., so she should get her money’s worth from it!
We also went to an activity for Earl’s brigade last night-an early “Trunk or Treat!” So, the kids already have tons of candy and I’m already wrestling with my binging demons! I have also made lots of great friends who I spend time with and who I know are there for me if I need anything. Hannah asked me on the way to church today why we didn’t join the military sooner! She said she misses her friends, but loves the new experiences we’re having! I think our positive outlook has helped the kids with their outlook. I also love the patriotic atmosphere they’re being raised in.
Well, I guess that’s it for this week…time marches on and we keep doing our thing, just like all of you! I’m going to include Earl’s email address for those of you who don’t have it. That way, you can drop him a line when you don’t have time to send a letter or package. That reminds me! Our church honored Earl the week of October 11th and also gave us a gift bag! It was wonderful and a great reminder that people love us and are praying for us! Have a wonderful week-we love you all!
